Save Money,

There are many
ways to save money on your direct mail project,
but due to the complexity of US Postal
regulations, most companies that produce their
own mailings are spending too much money on
postage and labor. Here are some of the
different ways ZipMail can help you save money
and save time:
Save Money with Machinable Mail.
You can save money on postage when your mail
piece meets US Postal Service (USPS) criteria
for size and addressing. If you meet their
requirements, your mail is considered "machinable,"
thus earning you discounted postage rates. There
are five general categories of machinable mail:
First Class:
Lower postage cost than regular first class, but
gets the same delivery treatment.
Presorted First Class:
Further discounted postage, with the same
delivery treatment.
Presorted Standard:
Even lower postage costs for most pieces,
delivery can be slower than first class.
Presorted Standard
Automated (bar coded): Lowest postage
costs for most pieces, delivery can be slower
than first class.
Periodical:
Special mailing class reserved for bound matter.

Further criteria affect the postage cost of your
mailing: dimensions and thickness. Click here

Mail Piece Design and/or Consultation.
Now that you know about the different classes of
automation-compatible mail, how do you know if
your mail piece meets USPS regulations? This is
where it can get tricky.
The USPS has very specific rules and regulations
concerning the size, weight, aspect ratio and
thickness of machinable mail. It is essential
that your piece conform to these rules or you
risk 1) paying too much postage and 2) having
your mailing rejected. Working with ZipMail
early in the design process can help you avoid
both circumstances. Click here for more
information. |
